I'd like to introduce to you the people (things) that get me through my day (work). When I am not on a shoot or conducting a focus group, I am at my desk. Which is the majority of the time. But I was not made for desk life. Desk life is a draining and dreary world. My bum hurts from sitting in a comfy office chair, and my head hurts from staring at a big beautiful computer screen, and my stomach hurts from free Chick-fil-A lunches. It's a tough life I lead. So to encourage productivity and protect my sanity, I've collected a few items found in boxes full of random products scattered through out our office. It's nowhere near Michael Scott's collection of desk toys, but while they are small, they are strongly distracting and highly effective. Here we have the wanna-be Bucky Balls, the knock-off of Silly Putty, and last but never least, one of those head tickler things, which people seem to really love or really hate. Here's to you trusty desk toys. You give my life meaning. ...Too far? Yeah, too far. But seriously, I love you desk toys. Don't ever forget it.
Do you have desk toys? I'm on the hunt to grow this little collection.
oh hell yes, that knock off silly putty looks amazing. I need some of that on my desk asap.
ReplyDeletei have zero desk toys, but i would kill for some of that silly putty!
ReplyDeleteI've heard of the head tickler being called an "Orgasmatron". Possibly not a PC term for the office!
ReplyDeleteOk I'm a huge lover of silly putty. I get so ADD at work teaching so I try to sometimes bring this along to fiddle with while I'm talking. Weird...I know. Newest follower!
ReplyDeleteOh how I love desk toys! Embarrassingly enough, my favorites are the colored gel pens and the cute notebooks. I particularly like freshly sharpened pencils and lots of post-its. And most importantly...is the basket of mini chocolates that I can delve into at anytime! I should probably get desk toys like yours.
ReplyDeleteI did get to try out a head tickler this week. I am a lover not a hater. My toddler loved running from person to person and tickling their head. But he didn't want his tickled, so he's a hater.

I do not have desk toys but now I really want some! :) Perhaps at least a stress ball! Silly putty would be fun though!
ReplyDeleteI totally have to have desk toys. I am at my desk most of the day too and would go stark raving mad without something to play with. I am a pen and sharpie fanatic. I also have this silly little Christmas tree that I leave in my office all year and decorate for any holiday I see fit.
ReplyDeleteI found you via the Aloha Friday Blog Hop and am looking forward to reading more. Have a great weekend!

Hi Rebecca! I like all your desk toys! Following you back from the blog hop. Have a great weekend:)
ReplyDeleteIf I had desk toys as a teacher I either wouldn't spend much time teaching OR they would be stolen by my students and they probably wouldn't be concentrating very much then. I'm visiting from the Aloha hop. Great to meet you!

Ahahaa so cute! Although those head things are the bane of my life. I DETEST THEM! Once my friends held me down and used it on me, my eyes were rolling into the back of my head and I couldn't stop screaming! I don't get how people can enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteEntertaining post, following you :)

ReplyDeleteAnyway, you gotta love those head scratchers (who would hate them?!). I got one for my hubby last year as a stocking stuffer and he was so obsessed we gave them as little mini-gifts to our entire family this year.
