Low Fashion

For the last few weeks, I have been conducting a highly scientific experiment. Anytime Jason compliments a non-Sunday outfit I take a picture of it. I have completed analyzing the data, and the results are fascinating.
Apparently, Jason really likes my most unfashionable outfits. Anytime I'm dressed comfortably to face inclement weather that seems to be a win in his book.
Today he said to me, "You've had probably a hundred great outfits in a row. Ever since you stopped that fashion blog, you started dressing cute all the time."
In case you are wondering what Jason's definition of cute is, please see above. And if I've had a hundred successes in a row... Obviously, I look like a train wreck all the time.

  1. I'm loving the lace up shoes in the last pic. Care to share the source?

  2. Hey, at least he compliments you!
And I still think you look cute in all of those pics

  3. It's "Radical Non-Ironic Bohemian Bum Chic" and you have MASTERED it, my friend. I live with a guy who doesn't give a lot of compliments, so it's always interesting to me when he feels the need to say something about my appearance. I've yet to use the scientific method, but if memory serves, the last few times that I have been cute enough to warrant attention it was because I had recently brushed my hair and/or bathed.

    Win.

  4. It's the low-key thing. Spencer's the same way. When I'm all dolled up with lipstick and eye-liner, he likes it, but he says his favorite is simple, little makeup, casual fashion. Boys...don't they know anything? ;)

  5. My boyfriend rarely comments on what I'm wearing, so whenever he does happen to say "You look cute today", I take it as a sign that I must look REALLY good that day. (And honestly, most of the time I don't look much different than you in these photos!) I've found that the outfits he sneers at are usually my most 'fashion-blogger-ish' outfits. It must be a guy thing.

  7. I kind of understand what your saying. My husband complains I don't wear makeup or dress nicely, but then he will say, "you look really good today, Boo" and I reply, "really?" he says "yeah" and then I am left to think "I'm not wearing makeup, I'm wearing jeans and a t-shirt, I don't get it" lol these guys of ours!

  8. I think you look fantastic, Rebecca. Not a train wreck, but I can see what you mean. That's how my husband is, he likes it when I don't try so hard. But, he's a weirdy, so...:) You look great, girly!

  9. I think you look great! My favorite is the pic with the wellies. My husband loves it when I wear my hair in its naturally curly state and he doesn't like makeup.

PS - I love your coat!

  10. Haha! Not a train wreck at all! It's nice to know that guys appreciate simple and/or comfortable. I think women mainly dress for other women rather than men. I can remember if I or someone else has worn the same thing twice in a row but I doubt most guys would!

  11. Well, I think you look cute in all of them..especially the burnt orange wrap sweater. My boyfriend always compliments the "shirts and a t-shirt" look, but often doesn't notice the cute, on trend ensembles. Go figure. Why buy expensive clothes when a white v-neck and old skinny jeans will do the trick?

  12. Oh I think he has great taste! I love the bundled look! And that everything isn't matchy matchy!

  13. Hahha I love this! Such a fun idea to take pictures when he compliments you to see what he likes.:)

  14. If there is one thing I learned about my bf's taste it's that SIMPLE WINS. No bows, no fussy things. Just plain, form fitting clothes. Your honey seems to be the same! He also hates when I put any lip product on because, you guessed it, it gets on his lips too. Haha.

PS - You hardly look like a train wreck! C'monnnn :)
